For my next challenge in Mission Month I designed am designing and 3D Printing a dual hot shoe mount. The idea is that I need to fit my camera monitor as well as my microphone on my camera. In the end I decided to make one end a standard tripod mount (for the monitor) and have a hot shoe / cold shoe mount on the extended end for the microphone. The steel mounting is a standard part that can be bought from places like amazon or camera stores.
